Tosaryu - Making Sustainable Hinoki Cypress Products since 1970
Established in 1970 amidst the mountain ranges of Kochi Prefecture, Japan, the woodworkers of Tosaryu have personalized the skills of hand making, or “monozukuri", by utilizing the features of Japanese Hinoki Cypress, they use to enhance the quality and function of their products. From interior to bath and kitchen goods, Tosaryu takes pride in being "a chef of wood" and uses only the best material for the right use. Out of gratitude to the forests, they use every piece of wood without wasting anything. Using sustainable methods of production and in their careful use of local resources, Tosaryu’s mission remains loyal to the forests and lakes around them as they master their art of woodwork.
Stylish and Thick Trivet for Donabe, Tea Pot, etc.
This light-weight and durable trivet is made of aromatic Japanese Hinoki cypress. This is also an eco-friendly product as they utilize the scraps of the Hinoki wood from their workshop. With every corner sanded carefully, the trivet is smooth, and the thick body is not only aesthetically beautiful but you can also have it stand up to store for the minimalist effect. We love to use it to serve donabe (small to medium size), tea pot, cups, etc. It is a true display of Tosaryu's dedication and commitment to excellence. Tosaryu's Hinoki Cutting Board is also available.
