Dashi and Miso-shiru Essentials
Dashi is the base of Japanese cooking, and making good dashi is the key to the delicious dish. Miso-shiru or miso soup is a staple at almost every Japanese meal and is all about enjoying the soothing aroma and flavor of good dashi.
You can have just one donabe to make dashi and also make miso soup, or have a slightly larger donabe (such as large-size classic-style) for making a bigger amount of dashi for multiple uses, and make miso-shiru in our Miso-shiru Nabe. This donabe is ideal for making and serving miso-shiru with the extra thick and round body, but you can also make other soups, stews and even braise and roast dishes in the oven with this versatile donabe.
