Originating in Kyoto, this fifth-generation atelier combines traditional shaping techniques with modern design concepts. The bamboo, which is locally sourced in the outskirts of Kyoto is light-weight and sturdy.

This is a kenzan (flower holder) crafted with powdered bamboo charcoal. Simply place a kenzan in your choice of bowl/ cup or plate and insert flowers or leaves into the kenzan holes to create elegant flower arrangements. Thanks to the properties of bamboo charcoal, it finely breaks down water molecules and enhancing the hydration of plants and flowers. This also helps prevent water from spoiling quickly and makes your plants and flowers last longer.

Usage and Care

• Rinse in water and air-dry (preferably under the sun for the best effect of the bamboo charcoal) after use
  
• Do not use soap or dish washer
• The effects of the bamboo charcoal usually dissipate 3 - 6 months, but you can continue to use the kenzan longer period of time
