Masterfully crafted Bamboo Jubako Box
Originating in Kyoto, this fifth-generation atelier combines traditional shaping techniques with modern design concepts. Bamboo used in Kohchosai Kosuga products is Madake or Mousouchiku variety, which is light-weight and very sturdy.
Jubako, or tiered boxes, are traditionally used to display fancy celebration meals most commonly used for osechi, or New Years food. Unlike the classic and formal red and black lacquered design of most jubako, this Kyoto Bamboo Jubako Box has a seamless and simple bamboo design that is perfect for any all-year-round occasions, whether it be casual or formal.
Its compact and lightweight design makes it convenient to store or travel with, and the varnish coating makes it easy to clean. The Jubako Box is designed so that the user can easily add or subtract tiers, making it versatile for any-sized meal. It's available in two sizes and includes bamboo shikiri, or dividers, for you to easily separate different dishes.
Perfect for taking to picnic as well as serving at home for both special and casual occasions. Pair them with any of our bamboo cutlery by Kohchosai Kosuga for a cohesive look.
