Masterfully Crafted Bamboo Hinoki Ladle
Originating in Kyoto, this fifth-generation atelier combines traditional shaping techniques with modern design concepts. Bamboo used in Kohchosai Kosuga products is Madake or Mousouchiku variety, which is light-weight and very sturdy.
The handle is crafted from bamboo, while the spoon part is made from locally sourced hinoki, or Japanese cypress. This combination creates the beautiful natural contrast aesthetically and makes it sturdier.
Available in two sizes; the small size is ideal for small donabe or bowl, and the large size is ideal for medium to large size donabe or bowl. The ladle's handle has a hole for hanging for easy storing.
Due to the natural variation of the wood and bamboo, color and grain pattern may be different than pictured.
