Masterfully crafted Tea Container
Originating in Kyoto, this fifth-generation atelier combines traditional shaping techniques with modern design concepts. Bamboo used in Kohchosai Kosuga products is Madake or Mousouchiku variety, which is sourced in Japan and is light-weight and very sturdy.
By binding different parts of bamboo together to create this container, the finished look is very similar to that of natural wood. The beautiful, yet subtle checkered pattern adds an elegant and timeless touch to the container.
Traditionally called Natsume ("jujube" - because its shape resembles jujube berry) in Japanese tea ceremony, the container is ideal to store our Fuji no Haru ceremonial-grade matcha or our Matsu Matcha , or any tea leaves and create the perfect setting for any tea ceremony. Also pair this item with our Traditional Chasen, Full-Hand Chasen, Tea Bowl, or our Tea Ladle to gift a loved one. You can also use this container to store tea leaves, condiments, or your choice of other items.
