Large Suri Plate Grater
Made by MOTOSHIGE, a small potter specializing in making mortars and graters. Based in the Iwami region of Shimane Prefecture, in western Japan, MOTOSHIGE carries on the craftsmanship of historic Iwami-yaki Pottery of the region. Iwami-yaki is known for its rustic look and extra-durable material.
The sharp porcelain ceramic pieces are imbedded in the earthenware body, so this grater enables efficient grating with little effort. This large grater is especially ideal for grating daikon, apple, root vegetables, hard cheese etc. and this can also work as a serving plate. The deep reservoir can hold good amount of the grated food.
The bottom of the plate also has silicon tracks to prevent from sliding during use. You can also check out the mortar and pestle version
here. We recommend
Fine Teeth Bamboo Scraper to help get out all the goodness without any waste. Available in black and white, these hand-made creations are both beautiful and functional.
