Fragrant First-Harvest Roasted Nori from Aichi

This premium roasted nori is made from 100% natural seaweed harvested in Nishimikawa, Aichi Prefecture, an area quietly known among sushi professionals for its exceptional nori quality. Using only first-harvest nori (hatsutsumi), prized for its deep aroma, natural sweetness, and rich umami, the sheets are roasted without any seasoning. The result is nori so flavorful that it can be enjoyed on its own, without salt or soy sauce, letting the true character of the sea shine through.

Half-Cut Sheets for Temaki and Onigiri

Each sheet is cut to a practical half size, making it ready for temaki (hand rolls) and onigiri (rice balls). There’s no need for trimming, and the smaller size helps keep the nori crisp until the moment you eat it. Use it for hand rolls, wrap it around warm rice, or tear it into pieces to finish donabe dishes, noodles, or simple meals with fragrance and texture.

Each package contains 10 half-cut sheets.

Carefully Roasted by Generations of Nori Artisans

This nori is roasted one sheet at a time by Tateishi Noriten, a third-generation nori specialist, exclusively for Tawaraya Genbei. Roasting is done just before shipping, with temperature and timing adjusted daily based on humidity, sea conditions, and the nori itself. Each batch is judged by color and translucency under natural light, ensuring a crisp finish and optimal aroma—an approach rooted in long-standing craftsmanship.
