Grown and Hand-Crafted in Tokushima, Japan: Organic Yuzu Marmalade
This small-batch yuzu marmalade is carefully hand-crafted using Kito-Yuzu, an exceptional variety of yuzu grown organically in the remote mountains of Kito Village, Tokushima Prefecture. Cultivated without pesticides, herbicides, or animal-based fertilizers, the yuzu is known for its large size, vibrant aroma, and thick, flavorful rind—making it ideal for marmalade. Kitomura’s artisans hand-press the juice, thinly slice the peel, and gently simmer everything together with organic beet sugar from Hokkaido and Japanese honey. The result is a marmalade that is bright, fragrant, and just lightly sweet, with a satisfying texture from the tender yuzu peel.
Naturally Bright, With a Touch of Bitterness
With its delicate balance of tartness, aroma, and subtle bitterness from the rind, Organic Yuzu Marmalade is versatile and full of character. Spread it on bread, muffins, or pound cake, or pair with creamy desserts like yogurt, panna cotta, or vanilla ice cream. It also makes a wonderful topping for soft cheeses—especially Brie or cream cheese. For a quick treat, try blending it with cream cheese for a simple yuzu spread. The marmalade also dissolves beautifully in warm drinks—just stir a spoonful into hot water or black tea for a soothing yuzu tea.
