Crafted in Kyoto, this artisan sesame oil is made from carefully roasted black sesame seeds that are slow-roasted and gently pressed using traditional methods to create a rich powerful aroma and stronger depth of flavor.

Compared to classic sesame oil, this black sesame oil offers a deeper body and toasty fragrance that pairs especially well with bold and flavorful dishes.

This is not intended to be a neutral cooking oil, but rather a finishing oil designed to add warmth, aroma, and depth to a dish with just a few drops. Try drizzling over cold tofu, noodles, soups, or richly seasoned dishes.

Sesame seeds are naturally composed of roughly 50% oil, but Yamada intentionally extracts only the first 30% because it is the cleanest and most flavorful portion.
