Artisan-Made and Functional - Shinogi Striped Canister with Teak Lid

Featuring a finely carved Shinogi (striated) pattern, this elegant ceramic canister showcases meticulous craftsmanship. Each piece is fired in a kiln in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, which has been operating since the Meiji era (1868–1912). The kiln uses earthy glazes that highlight the natural texture of the clay, resulting in a rich and expressive finish that reflects the beauty of its materials.

Perfect for Organizing and Display

The natural teak wood lid provides an airtight seal with its silicone gasket, making it perfect for storing salt, sugar, tea, coffee, spices, dried foods like kombu, or even snacks. The glaze features a crackled finish (kan-nyu), beautifully reflecting light to showcase its unique charm.

• The ceramic surface may feature pinholes or patterns due to its natural properties; these are not defects but part of its charm.
• The crackled finish (kan-nyu) in the glaze enhances its beauty and offers unique expressions when exposed to light.
• Avoid a metal or any other rough scrub, as it could damage the surface of the product
