This placemat is crafted with sustainably sourced materials from the Tono region in the south east of Gifu Prefecture known for its lush forests. It incorporates the brand's signature wave design, which is a result of their incredible craftsmanship through a proprietary method called "Uraho" to join the two types of wood together in order to mitigate warping, giving it its natural and whimsical design quality. It is also light weight, smooth and reversible, making it an obvious and delightful base for settings beyond dining. Enjoy the unique warmth and softness of Japanese cedar and cypress.

Usage and Care

• Each piece is handmade using natural Japanese trees and is different from one another. Each piece has their own individual characteristics, whether it be different nuances of grain patterns, certain spots and speckles, marks or bumps, and coloration.
• To clean, either hand wipe with cloth or hand wash with soft sponge and mild soap.
• Do not wash in a dishwasher.
• Thoroughly wipe off all water and fluids and allow to air dry before storing.
• Do not leave in direct sunlight.
• Do not soak in water for long periods of time.
