Jugetsudo – Japanese Tea Tradition and Refinement
Jugetsudo is an authentic Japanese tea house and shop based in Tsukiji, Tokyo. It was started by Maruyama Nori, the nori (dried seaweed) merchant founded in 1854. More than 160 years of tradition and experience pursuing the highest quality ingredients along with the spirit of Cha-Zen promise and enjoyable fragrance of tea that will stimulate your senses while providing a sense of comfort.
This Organic WaKocha Japanese Earl Grey by Jugetsudo is made with 100% organically grown Japanese black tea, a rare style that represents only a small portion of Japan’s tea production. Naturally fermented, the tea develops a smooth, rounded body with very low bitterness, allowing its gentle sweetness to come through clearly.
The addition of citrusy bergamot brings a refreshing lift to the cup, creating a balanced and aromatic expression of Earl Grey—lighter and more nuanced than traditional versions. It’s approachable for both black tea enthusiasts and those new to Japanese fermented teas, offering a clean, delicate finish that pairs well with or without food.
Each sachet is made with Soilon, a plant-based, biodegradable filter that does not impart any unwanted flavor or odor. This ensures you can fully enjoy the pure character of the tea, while also being mindful of environmental impact.
