This Nanatsuboshi rice is part of TOIRO’s Premium Selection, carefully chosen for its quality, freshness, and versatility. Grown in Hokkaido’s well-known rice-growing regions—including Asahikawa City, Takasu Town, and Higashikawa Town—this short grain rice is the latest 2025 harvest. The cool climate and clean water of northern Hokkaido contribute to rice with a naturally sweet flavor and a pleasing, lightly chewy texture.

Well-Balanced and Versatile

Nanatsuboshi offers a well-balanced profile that works comfortably across a wide range of dishes. Its gentle sweetness and stable texture make it suitable for sushi, onigiri (rice balls), donburi, and everyday meals. It is also known for holding up well even when cold.

The white rice is polished to order by us at a local facility to ensure freshness and optimal flavor, resulting in clean, fragrant grains with a soft yet resilient bite. The brown rice has a balanced, nutty flavor and a pleasant texture, and when cooked in a donabe, it turns out especially fluffy and satisfying. Both options highlight Nanatsuboshi’s versatility and are enjoyable hot or at room temperature.
