Akebi Aluminum Ladles by Kobo Aizawa

Kobo Aizawa is located in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, an area renowned for its stainless-steel and other metal material production. The company, which specializes in kitchen goods, was founded in the 1920s (Taisho Era) with the aim to create goods of superior quality that combine functionality and esthetic beauty. The endless pursuit of high quality goods has led Kobo Aizawa to produce items that have aesthetic design and functionality. When you take a look at their products, you might notice tiny details, which is the result of meticulous planning.

Akebi Aluminum Ladles are a beautiful addition to any kitchen. The aluminum handles are wrapped with akebi, or chocolate vine, a plant native to northern Japan. This wrapping makes it easy to grip the slick handle while protecting your hands from heat. An interesting note is that these utensils are formed by a traditional Japanese technique known as tsuchime-uchi, where the craftsman beats the metal to form it, leaving fine dents.
