Mino-yaki Earthenware
Mino-yaki earthenware is specialty pottery produced in the Mino Region (around current Toki City) of Gifu prefecture which began in the 7th century. Mino-yaki continues to adapt to modern lifestyles while preserving its history and tradition. One of the signature characteristics of Mino-yaki earthenware is its diversity. Mino-yaki does not adhere to a single form, as it has over 15 registered types of traditional handicraft in Japan.
YUI Wooden Handle Dobin Teapot
YUI Wooden Handle Dobin Teapot is presented by SALIU, a brand by Nature Ave. SALIU is a collection of fine tableware made in Gifu, Japan.
This teapot is a beautiful combination of ceramics and wood handle which is attached by-hand by craftsmen. It has a sizeable capacity (up to 600 ml at the fullest) which can comfortable serve up to 3 - 4 servings with one steeping. Its spout delicately tapers from its round body and releases a steady, yet gentle stream of tea. And, the finely-perforated tall stainless steel strainer ensures that both the brewing and cleaning processes are easier and more efficient.
The YUI Wooden Handle Dobin Teapot sports a matte glaze in a solid white color speckled with minute differences in tone across the pot. This quality provides each piece with its own unique character—a trait seen across many types of Mino-ware regardless of style.
This teapot is best enjoyed with matching YUI Tea Cup (available in soft curved shape and round shape - sold separately). The YUI Side-Handle Teapot is a smaller sized variety of this style which is available in two colos.
