Simply Donabe cooking event with Chef Kyle Connaughton (Kyle-san) at SingleThread Farm last Saturday was not just about the release of my new cookbook, but it was really a celebration of the 25 years of our friendship, 10 year anniversary of our Donabe cookbook together!
Kyle-san and the team kindly invited me to host a donabe cooking class event at their beautiful farm, and we had a great time demonstrating donabe cooking and having conversations in front of the enthusiastic audience.
After the class and book signing, Kyle took everyone on a tour of the farm. They grow so many different kinds of vegetables, fruits and flowers there. The restaurant’s menus are created based on what are in “shun” the peak season in the farm. Such a beautiful philosophy.
