Event Report: Kyoto-style Seasonal Vegetable Cooking Class Featuring Chef Masa Ozasa

We had the honor of hosting Chef Masa Ozasa, the head chef and 4th generation heir of Kyo-Ryori Matsusho in Kyoto, last Saturday, and it was truly a special occasion!

 

In this sold-out event, Chef Ozasa demonstrated a variety of techniques for cooking local vegetables in the traditional Kyoto style. It was amazing to witness him single-handedly prepare such a beautiful array of dishes for the group! Participants had the opportunity to learn various cooking methods and taste every dish, including vegetable taki-awase (fried and simmered vegetables), goma-tofu, fig-tofu, dengaku (grilled vegetables with shishito-miso sauce), and donabe asparagus and ginger rice, which was made using our Double-lid Donabe Rice Cooker, Kamado-san, among others!
