We were honored to be part of Cookbook Live, hosted by LAist and the James Beard Foundation, on Thursday, October 8 at The Crawford in Pasadena.
Cookbook Live is an event series that celebrates the stories cookbooks carry, and how food brings people and cultures together. For this evening, Naoko shared the heart of everyday donabe cooking from her new cookbook, Simply Donabe.

We were so happy to see such a wonderful turnout. The evening was full of warmth and curiosity, and the audience's enthusiasm for donabe made it truly special.

On stage, Naoko cooked Tori Lemon Joya Nabe (chicken and lemon hot pot) from Simply Donabe, showing how simple and nourishing everyday donabe cooking can be. She then sat down with Gab Chabrán, LAist's food and culture writer, for a conversation about the book and how to bring donabe into daily life.
Our sincere thanks to LAist and the James Beard Foundation for hosting such a meaningful evening, and to Gab for a thoughtful conversation. Thank you also to Mama Musubi, Amy Rowe and the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, Athletic Brewing, Graza, and Rivian for making the night so welcoming.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who joined us. If you were not able to attend, Simply Donabe is available at our shop and online. We hope to see you at a future event.
Happy Donabe Life!
