Gion Tsujiri was founded in 1860 as a tea manufacturer in Uji, Kyoto at the end of the Edo period. Originally named after its founder Tsuji Riemon, the store was later renamed to "Gion Tsujiri" after the reestablishment of the flagship Gion Main Store in the Gion District of Kyoto. For over 150 years, Tsujiri has been a mainstay in Japanese traditional Matcha, and under the current 5th generation owner, Tsujiri also offers a wider variety of matcha-related products which connect the drinker to its authentic Uji roots in Kyoto, Japan.

Usage & Care
To make hot Matcha Milk Tea
- Heat up about 140 ml (4.7 fl oz) of water or your choice of milk (whole, almond, oat, or coconut, etc.) in a kettle or saucepan to your desired temperature.
- Pour heated liquid in a cup or mug and stir in a generous 1 tablespoon of Tsujiri Matcha Milk Powder until dissolved and enjoy.
To make cold Matcha Milk Tea
- Mix 1 generous tablespoon of Tsujiri Matcha Milk Powder with 120 ml (4.0 fl oz) or more of cold/room temperature water or your choice of milk in a glass or cup until dissolved.
- Add two or three ice cubes to the drink and enjoy.
Variations
*Add finely grated ginger and cinnamon powder to finish.
*Use blend of milk and flavored milk (such as chocolate milk).
*Combine the already blended matcha milk tea with vanilla ice cream and some ice cubes in a blender. Blend until smooth to make a quick matcha milk shake.
Care
- Store in a cool dark place before opening. Refrigerate after opening and tightly seal the package.
