Originating in Kyoto, this fifth-generation atelier combines traditional shaping techniques with modern design concepts. Bamboo used in Kohchosai Kosuga products is Madake or Mousouchiku variety, which is sourced in Japan and is light-weight and very sturdy.
Tori-bashi (Serving Chopsticks) are made with durable and flexible bamboo with pointed tips on both sides that are perfect for serving multiple dishes at a dinner party or picnic. They also work nicely for plating.
(Available in Winter) The Fukutori set features two sets of chopsticks in classic colors of black and red. It literally translates to "catching luck" and is meant to bring fortune between loved ones during a special celebration, such as New Years. The colorful packaging features a winter landscape, making it a great gift for someone.
(Available in Fall) The Tsukimichopsticks include two sets of chopsticks in elegant red and yellow colors. The beautiful packaging with the pictures of moon and rabbit, reminiscent of the Tsukimi or moon-viewing festivals that occur in mid-Autumn in Japan, can make a nice small gift for someone, too.
