What Is a Single-Serve Pour-Over Filter Bag (a.k.a. Cup-On)?
This ingenious Japanese brewing method is known as Cup-On or Single-Serve Disposable Filter Bag—a simple paper filter pre-filled with the perfect amount of ground coffee for one cup. The filter features clever side arms that hook securely over your mug. Just open the pouch, set the filter in place, and pour hot water—freshly brewed coffee will drip directly into your cup in under a minute.
Unlike standard filters, this version features a 4-point stability system, which helps prevent the filter from collapsing or soaking into the liquid while brewing. It’s one of the most premium cup-on designs in Japan, typically reserved for high-end coffee offerings.

How to Brew

Open the outer pouch and remove the drip filter.

Tear along the top cut line and pull the arms to hook over your mug.

Gently tap the filter with a spoon to flatten the coffee surface.

Pour hot water (185–195°F / 85–90°C) slowly over the coffee.

Total water volume should be about 6–7 oz (180–210 ml).

Once done dripping, remove and discard the filter. Enjoy.
