Originating in Kyoto, this fifth-generation atelier combines traditional shaping techniques with modern design concepts. The bamboo, which is locally sourced in the outskirts of Kyoto is light-weight and sturdy.
Takefumi (take means "bamboo" and fumi means "stepping on") is a traditional health practice item that has been used in Japan for decades. A simple bamboo piece split in half fits the arch of your foot perfectly. By stepping on it and moving back and forth, this bamboo stimulates your entire feet through massage while exercising.
Keep it in your kitchen or bathroom, and make it to your daily health routine while cooking, brushing teeth, getting ready , etc.
This hand-crafted Takefumi is made from Mousouchiku bamboo, which is native to Japan.
