Originating in Kyoto, this fifth-generation atelier combines traditional shaping techniques with modern design concepts. Bamboo used in Kohchosai Kosuga products is Madake or Mousouchiku variety, which is sourced in Japan and is light-weight and very sturdy.
Noshi - Traditional Japanese Good Luck Design
A single piece of bamboo is carefully folded to resemble Japanese "noshi", to cover a glass vase. Noshiis a name for a type of traditional Japanese origami fold made for ceremonial occasions. Noshi is commonly used to express good wishes and it's also considered to bring good fortune. This flower vase is designed for flat surfaces, including tabletops. We also have a wall hanging version here.
