Iwamoto Kiyoshi Shouten is a family-run producer located in Kanazawa City in Ishikawa Prefecture. Founded in 1913 and specializes in hand-crafting useful and artistic household items from the wood of the Paulownia tree, which is hollow in the center and makes it ideal for making trivets. This family of artisans continue to explore the beauty of this natural wood and use a special charring technique, which gives their creations a special warmth, look, and texture.

*Artisans work with the natural grains of tree so the size and position of hole for each piece varies (some are smaller and/ or off center). So, please enjoy the one-of-a-kind unique beauty.
