New Year is the biggest celebration in Japanese culture and we make special dishes to enjoy in the first 3 days of January. The dishes we will make are traditional new year celebration dishes in Naoko's family, and these can also be enjoyed throughout the winter or even all year round!
- Tai snapper sashimi quick "kombu-jime" (cured in shaved kelp)
- Kuri-kinton ("golden" satsuma yam puree with chestnuts)
- Chikuzen-ni (root vegetables and chicken stew)
- Tokyo-style Zo-ni (clear dashi soup with vegetables and mochi slice)
- Donabe rice
- Pairing wine or sake
